Newsletter plugin recommendation

    I need recommendations for a newsletter plugin. I want to send to people in Groups I assign them to. I’m seeking one that doesn’t need specific email programs but uses smtp I designated in WordPress.

    Free, no credits needed to use or add-ons needed to use.

    Templates I can use and customization options would be nice but not definitely necessary.

    I’ve checked out six or seven but all have either no option to use smtp, no customization or need costly add-ones.

    Not yet but building the site now. I have the User Role Plugin and will add three roles.

    The plugins I saw for newsletters either costs money, limits you in customization or makes you use gMail, other free hosts or their servers so spam can be added.

    I doubt I’ll send out to more than 100 people per group.

    Depending on how customisable you need the email template to be, this looks like it might do the trick – allows you to send emails from within WP via SMTP and use roles to define recipients: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-email-users/

    I searched for newsletters, not email users. This is perfect. Now onto finishing the site!
