I would like static pages linked to specific categories, e.g. a Web Design page with an introductory paragraph, followed by a dynamic loop of properly formatted complete posts categorized as “web design”.

Page2Cat by Paolo Tresso (aka Pixline) appears to provide this, but I have been unable to get it working properly. Can anyone recommend the best solution for this? My preference would be to create a few custom page templates, one per category post. Thanks

  • Have you tried using the default category template functionality of the theme? You can set it up to display the category description and it will show you all the posts associated with it. To use it simply put in a description in the Edit Categories screen for the categories you have, then head over to Suffusion Theme Options -> Templates -> Single Category and ensure that the category introduction is enabled. You don’t need a plugin for this.

This is awesome Sayotan, and just what I was looking for! Clear explanation too. Coffee is on me. 🙂

That’s Sayontan, sorry about the misspell. Sky

Skytouch, did it solve exactly what you wanted? I am asking because I have the same plan, if I understood you right: to have PAGES which show only CERTAIN CATEGORY posts. As I understand, Sayontan’s solution would provide for a category with its description, however not under a special page, but rather under a category?

To create a page with posts from certain category I use a plugin “Pages Posts”, but would like to achieve it without any plugin.
