• I don’t want a sidebar on my site. Is there a way to make the Libre theme display text all the way across the screen, instead of reserving a space on one side for a sidebar?

    Thank,
    Stuart

  • Hi Stuart –

The Libre Theme has been retired. While the site may continue to work, eventually, things will start to go wonky as browsers are updated. The best option would be to find a theme with a full page display as desired.

    https://wordpress.com/themes/

There, you can search by features, or layout styles. Let me know if you need more help.

How can it be retired if WordPress is still offering it to new users? It was one of the first choices that popped up when I chose Themes from the WordPress Dashboard when I started setting up my site last week.

    Hi @sdinenno,

It was one of the first choices that popped up when I chose Themes from the WordPress Dashboard when I started setting up my site last week.

I think that may have been Libre 2? If your site is Jetpack connected, there is an option to activate Libre 2 from the list of Jetpack themes.

Does anyone know if Libre 2 allows for the text to go the full length of the screen rather than having an area reserved for a sidebar?

Never mind, I just found out that Libre 2 does allow for the text to go the full length of the screen.

Yes, the Full Width, No Sidebar page template should give you the option to do that 🙂
