WordPress Simple Paypal Shopping Cart
[resolved] Need orders to process with NO PRICE (9 posts)

    Some of my products require the customer to pay after the order has been processed. These are labelled POA (price on application) next to the 'add to cart' buttons. I have made the shortcode price="000.001" which seems to work fine going through checkout with no price attached to it but shows as an error when it reaches PayPal Sandbox.

    What can I do to make the orders processed with no price?

    The following ERROR appears:

    Fatal Error: SIGSEGV Backtrace: MerchantPaymentWeb::sigsegv_handler(int) ffffe500 ValueObject::get_value(FieldInfo const*) const ULA::FlowContextVO::get_flow_name() const ULA::ULATrackImpl::log_fpti_server_side_tracking(THashtable const&) Rapids::Flows::Unity::DecoratorLoadRecipient::execute(Rapids::CGIVars const&) Rapids::DecoratedState::execute(Rapids::CGIVars const&) Riprap::RiprapRapidsGenericFlow::handle_execute(Riprap::WebAppContextOrnate const&, Rapids::TransitionRegistry const&, Rapids::State*, String const&, String const&, unsigned long long) Riprap::RiprapRapidsGenericFlow::process_states(Riprap::WebAppContextOrnate const&, Riprap::RiprapRapidsGenericFlow::ProcessStates, Riprap::DispatchInterceptorRegistry const&, Rapids::TransitionEdge const*) Riprap::RiprapRapidsGenericFlow::flow_call(Riprap::WebAppContextOrnate const&, Riprap::WebAppReturn const&, String const&, Riprap::DispatchInterceptorRegistry const&) Riprap::call_rapids(Riprap::WebAppContext const&, Riprap::RapidsFlowFactory const&, Riprap::DispatchAction const&, Riprap::WebAppReturn const&, String const&, Riprap::DispatchInterceptorRegistry const&) Riprap::dispatch_loop(Riprap::EPRegistry const&, Riprap::WebAppContext const&, Riprap::DispatchAction&, Riprap::WebAppReturn&, String const&, Riprap::DispatchInterceptorRegistry const&) Riprap::dispatch_wrapper(OutputStream&, Riprap::EPRegistry const&, Riprap::WebAppContext const&, Riprap::WebAppReturn const&, String const&, bool const&, Riprap::DispatchInterceptorRegistry const&) Riprap::entry_point(HTTPInterface&, Riprap::CGIVars&, OutputStream&, String const&, String const&) main

    That looks like an issue with PayPal's server. Try it at a different time or try using their live server. The sandbox can have difficulty from time to time as it is a development environment.

    I have tried a few times during the day which didn't work. How can I try using the live server? Are we sure it is even possible to have no cost on a product?

    Thank you in advance!!!

    Please let me know if you figure out this issue!
    Thanks

    I think it I am halfway to understanding. In my case, I am willing to 'create a link/button that is a straight link to the special page' but obviously not for members in this case.

    So what sort of page could it link to, in order to confirm the order? Because it would need to notify me too. I am thinking it would be a link to send an email with a generic request already written, or a form. I don't know how to do that but what do you think?

    I have made links instead that lead to a form that sends an email to place the order.

    Thank you so much for clarifying
