• Hi, I’m just finishing up my design for The Naked Truth. I’ve checked it for validation and it comes out o.k.

The header bit does something weird in XP IE 6 where for some reason the color seems darker than the rest of the page and it is 1 pixel too far left. This is not an issue with Firefox and it perplexes me.

I’d like to know if it looks o.k. on a Mac in IE, Safari and Firefox, if someone would be so kind.

Oh, and suggestions are always welcome. I really want to have a nice design.

  • (Mac) Looks fine on OmniWeb, Firefox and Opera.

However, both Safari and IE show the same colour problem that you noticed on IE Windows which means there is a darker patch left and right of header.

Sorry don’t know enough aboout browser colour rendering to advise but if you manage to squash it on IE Windows then it will probably be OK.

Love the header image by the way

    Thanks.

Yeah, I’m probably going to use some more of her graphics and do the theme switching thing.

The weird thing is that in photoshop the two graphics appear to be the same color. In fact, I used the background color graphic to fill the other.

The answer my friend is blowing in the wind…

    ahem-erm.

OK This may be pretty obvious to the more web graphic saavy, but the problem was that I was using a .png format for the header and a .jpg format for the other images. When I saved the header as a .jpg and plugged it into the theme, wallah! Problem fixed!
