# Need login / register plugin

 * Looking for a login / registration plugin to limit registrations to those who
   live in specific states.
 * Tried Ultimate Member and Classic 7, couldn’t get them to work. Downloaded WP-
   members but found no way install it.

 * It installs like any other plugin.
 * Either go to Plugins > Add New then in the Search, search for “WP-Members”. Click
   the “Install Now” button, then when it is installed, click “Activate”.
 * Or, to if uploading from a zip, select “Upload Plugin” from the same screen above.
   Browse to the zip file and click “Install Now”.
 * That being said, it doesn’t natively allow you to limit registrations by location.
   However, you can [create custom form field validation using the wpmem_pre_register_data action](https://rocketgeek.com/plugins/wp-members/docs/filter-hooks/wpmem_pre_register_data/)
   so you could use that to check for the user’s state from the registration from.
