# Need help with upgrading

 * I tried to upgrade to the latest version and this is what I got at the upgrade
   page ([http://www.lmmiller.com/blog/wp-admin/upgrade.php](http://www.lmmiller.com/blog/wp-admin/upgrade.php))
 * Parse error: parse error, unexpected ‘;’, expecting T_VARIABLE or ‘$’ in /home/
   lawre2/public_html/blog/wp-includes/functions-post.php on line 773
 * Any help would be appreciated!

 * I’d try to upload a fresh copy of that file – sometimes files get corrupted during
   the download/unzip/upload.

 * Uploading the file did not do anything, still the same error message:
 * Parse error: parse error, unexpected ‘;’, expecting T_VARIABLE or ‘$’ in /home/
   lawre2/public_html/blog/wp-includes/functions-post.php on line 773

 * I did… I am doing the whole delete and upload again. Let’s see how it goes this
   time.

 * I followed the Delete and Upload steps of the upgrade instuctions and still am
   getting the same error…

 * I even deleted all the files and tried to install rather than upgrade. Once I
   ran install.php I got asked for wp-config.php and after I installed it, I got
   the same message (now on [http://www.lmmiller.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php](http://www.lmmiller.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php)):

 * I really do need help from someone who can help me with this! Thanks in advance!
