  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Why are you using an old copy of WordPress? Were you aware that your site is currently running a very real risk of being hacked? You need to upgrade WordPress asap. As you have such an old version of WordPress, you will need to carry out a series of smaller manual upgrades. See Upgrading_WordPress_Extended for the full details.

    assume you managed to deal with this as couldn’t see the advert. If not, where should I be able to see it?

    @judgerookie if you view source page you will be able to see it. In chrome it does not show anything,its blank space but on Microsoft edge it shows the IFrame with a link inside.Down near the footer.

    @robertbond thanks, I can see it now

    obvious question but do you know how it was put there in the first place? is it in the widgets area?

    @judgerookie
    If you click view page source u can be able to see it.
    Wish i could be able to attach a picture and show you.
    The page was previously setup by a different person.

    @robertbond I can see at this end but wanted to check what do you see at the back-end?
    My initial thoughts are that this iframe is placed in a widget but you’d be able to see it after signing in to your WordPress dashboard.
