    Hi there,

Using various custom sidebars for different categories.

In Custom Sidebars admin page I have set (and repeatedly checked to make sure that it is done right) that any individual posts in category queertango as well as category excerpts pages are set to contain the queertango sidebars.

The category http://tangoforge.com/category/queertango/ displays correctly when it delivering the excerpts. But single posts do not display the sidebars set for this category in the admin area.

*Even when I set the custom sidebars as desired on the individual post it still does not override. I've done that with these posts:
But as you see they come accompanied with a different set of sidebars than those designated in the post editor (they should be the same as:

Thank you in advance for the assistance.

    Hi @violetta

I'm not sure I follow, could you attach some screenshots of the settings of one of the posts.

Also what settings have you set in Custom Sidebars > Dafault Sidebars? Could you expand everything and send attach screenshots showing the settings for each?

Can you also specify where the sidebars are displaying incorrectly and how they should display?

    Hi there,

I'm using custom sidebars in two of my wp installs and generally it's working the way I expect it to. But something is wrong in one instance. I'll walk you through the situation.

First look at the sidebars that display on a standard post (displaying correctly):

Now look at the sidebars in an archive display of category queertango (displaying correctly)

Now look at the sidebars in a single post in this same category (displaying incorrectly)

I've taken a screenshot of the custom sidebars setup. You can view the screenshot here (it won't scroll so you'll have to save the image in order to view the whole thing I think):

Thank you so much for your help! Please let me know if you need more information.

    I've added one more screenshot

This shows that even when I set the sidebars the way I want them on the individual post's admin page, I am still getting the mainstream sidebars instead of the ones that match the category archives for queertango.

    Thank you!

    Hi there Violetta,

I hope your well today and sorry about the extreme delay here.

In single.php within your theme, can you check for if it's calling a specific sidebar by name.

    i.e, <?php get_sidebar( $name ); ?>

    As shown http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_sidebar

    Please advise :)

    Kind Regards
