Support » Themes and Templates » Need help modifying sidebars with RedRacer theme (not widgets)

  • I have recently started a new blog here: http://www.write-or-wrong.com. And my theme is RedRacer, which I really like. But I don’t know how to make the sidebars be what I want.

The sidebars include sections for text or links or whatever. They have several of these sections, and the default looks somewhat like this:

OTHER <—– in the spot where a title would be
    Put something here
Put something here <—–these are listed underneath
    Put something here
    Put something here

So, I could do something like (with the three options being links):

    SUBSCRIPTION OPTIONS
    Subscribe to RSS
    Subscribe to Comments
    Subscribe by Email

But, my problem is that I don’t know how to do this. Do I change it somehow in the template? I do see these sidebar “other” sections in the template–they aren’t widgets.

I don’t know how to write code, PHP or HTML.

Can anyone help me figure this out? Please? Thanks in advance

  • if its not widget ready, then in your theme folder, you should have sidebar.php files, or something like that. thats where you make the changes.

Thanks for replying. It is widget ready, and I can (and have already) add widgets to the sidebars–these are extra sections in the sidebars. These spots are something else…they probably have some type of name and I just don’t know what to call them since I don’t do programming.

If you look at the site (www.write-or-wrong.com) you will see the spots that I mean.

    Thanks again!
