I want to install google analytics code onto my blog.

I cannot figure out how to view the web code to edit my theme.

I've been looking for directions for a couple of hours, but keep finding dead ends. Or, I find directions that start with editing the footer.php - which I can't find. I need the specific, step-by-step directions to get to the code for each page so I can insert the code!

For example, I tried to find these - but there is no Appearance or Editor link, nor Plugins or Editor link:
Access the Theme Editor from the Administration > Appearance > Editor menu.

The Plugin Editor is located at Administration > Plugins > Editor.

What I need is a step-by-step from the Blog Admin dashboard to get to where I need to so that I can insert the tracking code. Can anyone please help?

but there is no Appearance or Editor link, nor Plugins or Editor link:

it might be that your blog is with WordPress.com - in which case you would need to ask at http://en.forums.wordpress.com/

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

if your site is self-hosted and using WordPress.org software - then make sure that you are logged-in as Administator, and you should be able to see the 'appearance - editor' and the 'plugins' section in the dashboard.
