Need help for photoblog

Hi

I’m currently trying to set up a photoblog powered by wordpress.

I already know that wordpress isn’t ideal to do this but I’ve already come to far to revert and start all over with a different tool.

What I want is my photoblog to function abit like the flogr thingy for flicker. See sample here, where my images are shown in a lightbox etc. directly from the homepage or category page, eliminating the way through single post page.

Is this possible and how do I get it to work? I’ve searched the forums and google but haven’t come up with anything useful yet.
