    Hello, the site that I help manage nvbchurch.org is not displaying things correctly and states in the tab, “this site was hacked by mrhax.” Can someone help me with this please? I am not sure where to go from here.

    Thank you so much.

    Erik

    The Exploit Scanner plugin can help detect damage so that it can be cleaned up. Other things you should do:

    • Change passwords for all users, especially Administrators and Editors.
    • If you upload files to your site via FTP, change your FTP password.
    • Re-install the latest version of WordPress.
    • Make sure all of your plugins and themes are up-to-date.
    • Update your security keys.
    • See FAQ My Site Was Hacked.

    – When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.
    – If you’re unable to clean your site(s) successfully, there are reputable organizations that can clean your sites for you (e.g., Sucuri, Wordfence …).

    I’m having the same issue with two of my sites that use the 2017 WP theme…

    I’m also on WP 4.7.2 if that matters…

    @plainplow,

    If the troubleshooting already posted made no difference for you, then, as per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. That way you stand a good chance of getting the assistance you want.

    Thank you, T-P. I’m sorry for not adhering to the rules.

    But I did fix my problem with MrHax. I found this code in a widget:

    I deleted that widget and voila, no more Hacked By MrHax.

    [ Hack code redacted, please do not post Hack code. Thanks]
