• Hi all Im in need of a little help developing my new theme. Basicly Im wanting to dev a magazine theme for my site tory-politico.com what Im trying to acheive is something a long the lines of what politico.com does on its homepage with a large section at the top for the feature post them other posts listed bellow that. I would also like to have the option to generate a thumbnail on the hopepage for stories.

If you could help me with this it would be great.

  • Best bet is to look at how other ‘magazine’ themes work:

Thanks for the link, but I have already looked at several different news/magazine themes and none of them quite do what I want hence my question.

Namely I want to inplement a large featured post image at the top with other posts listed in two columns bwllow that. While several of the themes put content into two columns they are arranged by category which is something I dont realy want to do as my posts are not devided into that many categories, in fact all I want to use is “featured” and “stories” as a sub category of “news.”

So what I would like help with is a) how to code the top feature section of the hope page so that it looks similer to that used on the politico.com site, and b) how to display my post bellow this in two columns bellow this without using categories.

Any advice on how to do this would be great.

PS sorry for the double post.
