    Hello,
My host has told me I have a theme error and to reinstall the theme. From reading the forum and tutorials, I gather I’m supposed to delete or rename the original theme and then install it again. The problem, I’m sure is elementary. Nowhere is there an explanation of where the files are to rename. I don’t know if they’re on my computer or somewhere on WordPress. Could someone please explain this to me?
    Thank you,
    Britt

You theme is on your server in /wp-content/themes/THEMEFOLDER

If you rename the folder, you can copy up a new version.

Ipstenu, I know this sounds really dumb, but is the server the host? And what comes before the /wp-content/themes/THEMEFOLDER? Believe it or not, there’s nothing in the documentation that explains this.

The server is your host. There … well there IS in the documentation, but it depends on where YOU installed WordPress.

    For me it’s in ~/public_html/wp-content….

But I don’t know where on your host/server you put the files.

    I spoke too soon.

I changed the name of the theme to old theme in bluehost.
Then I went back to WP and in my dashboard clicked on themes. The text at the top of the page says the theme is broken, reverting to default theme. When I try to upload the Urban View theme again I get a page that says:

Install a theme in .zip format
If you have a theme in a .zip format, you may install it by uploading it here.
There is a browse option which goes to my desktop. When I try to upload without filling in the browse box, I get an error message that says select a file.

I’m doing something wrong but can’t see what it is.

I finally figured it out. No need for any more help.
    Thanks again,
    Britt
