I’ve been going back and forth finding pros and cons trying to decide what is best for what I want. (Pages or Posts)

I want to list stories (all same author) like this:
    – Title
    – Date written
    – quick synopsis
    – clickable thumbnail of cover art (if any) which would pop up a bigger image
    – popup link to a sample of the story
    – link to comments

At first I did this as Posts in the same category with the use of nice plugins such as Sticky Image for cover art and Get Custom Field Values for date. I also figured out to use a custom field with the value of the page ID that would link to the sample of the story. The problem with the posts is that I want to be able to sort these by the date the stories were written AND be able to paginate these.

If I use Pages, I get the benefit of having sample of the story as a child page (easier for the author to manage this) I can sort the entries by using menu_order. However, I can’t find any info on how you could paginate Pages whilst displaying them in the right order. Also the Sticky Image plugin only works with posts, so would have to do a work around for that myself.

Any gurus out there be able to advise? I would be very grateful!!

OK, one admits to being a muppet. I completely blanked out the Post Timestamp being only used for time of the actual post.
I know, I can use it for my “Date the story was written” just by changing the fields – I don’t really need to know the date the post was written. Then I get the right order and pagination.
Just thought I’d mention it if anyone was trying to do the same thing and was just as daft as me. (prob not!)
