Need help adjusting profile.php

I’m trying to add an image tag like<img src=”/avatars/file-name.gif” class=”left” alt=””/> into one of the contact info categories(like yahoo IM). But it keeps on cutting it off after the first quation mark though. What file restricts certain characters from being allowed in these fields? I know the ‘about yourself’ category works with all keyboard characters.
