 * So my website is hosted at godaddy.com (www.Lyceum.at)
 * I just had a web designer redo our whole site, and apparently he used word press
   to do this. The site looks great, but it has a new url:
 * [http://www.lyceum.at/home/?page_id=351](http://www.lyceum.at/home/?page_id=351)
 * So, my question is how do I make it so that when people type in “www.Lyceum.at”
   they are actually sent to “[http://www.lyceum.at/home/?page_id=351&#8221](http://www.lyceum.at/home/?page_id=351&#8221);?
 * I have downloaded the “redirection” and “301 simple redirects” plugins and added
   this switch, but both have failed to produce the result I’m looking for. Help!

 * Get the web guy to move the wordpress to the root, and turn on nice permalinks
   while he is at it.

 * If preserving SEO is important to you, you’ll want to redirect all your old URLs
   to your new ones.
 * Here’s an article that speaks to this:
    [http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-properly-move-wordpress-to-a-new-domain-without-losing-seo/](http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-properly-move-wordpress-to-a-new-domain-without-losing-seo/)
 * To do this, you can:
 * 1. directly edit your .htaccess file ([http://css-tricks.com/snippets/htaccess/301-redirects/](http://css-tricks.com/snippets/htaccess/301-redirects/))
 * or
 * 2. Use a plugin like [Redirection](http://wordpress.org/plugins/redirection/)
 * Good luck!
