Need custom menu for each post, home page, archive page

    Hello,

I am looking for a plugin that will allow me to have a custom menu for each post, archive page, single page, home page etc.

I think the best way to achieve this is by using custom fields (?).. not sure which direction I should go.

    any help will be appreciated.

Hmmm… a custom menu for each post? So if your site had hundreds of posts, it would have hundreds of custom menus? Maybe talk in more detail about the end goal.

In sidebar.php, you could throw different widget areas by sniffing for if is_page() is_home() is_single() etc…

sorry .. let’s say custom menu for each category… which means all posts inside the category will have this custom menu.

talking about automatically swapping the main navigational menu of the site (not sidebar).

Yeah, my suggestion above still applies. Use a template conditional to see what page you’re on, and then serve the appropriate widget area, or just grab the desired menu:

Still there might be a simpler solution depending on what you want in the menu. If it’s just sibling or child categories, you could do that with a custom function.

I would like a totally different navigational menu that i will built myself for each category (different parent items as well)… just need 8 custom menus for 8 categories..

not sure of the exact code i need to use.. i am kind of new at editing wordpress files but i can manage with some tips !
