    Hello!

I am testing this on a staging site hosted at WP Engine – caching is not enabled on staging sites.

I have code in the Main PopUp Content box to load an image on page load in a lightbox – it worked just fine with a test image. But when I changed the code to load a different image, the Preview shows the correct new image, but refreshing the home page shows the incorrect old image. Clearing browser cache doesn’t do anything.

Does this plugin need to be in an environment with caching to work properly?

    Thank you!

    Hi @purplepatriot,

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

Could you please try using WordPress AJAX pop up loading method from Pop up settings on the following path.

Admin Area -> PopUp -> Settings

This method loads PopUp separately from the page via a WordPress AJAX call. This is the best option if you use caching.

    Best Regards,

Thank you for your prompt reply! That is the setting I’m using. In the error logs, I’m getting this: purge_varnish_cache() failed…

I have it working now on the live site (where caching is enabled) – I was just concerned since I couldn’t get it working on the staging site and didn’t want to move it to live before I knew it would work.

It still doesn’t work on the ataging site – the new image does NOT show up. Maybe something for the developers to look into?

    Hi @purplepatriot,

    Thank you for your reply.

Could you please share me the page link where you are using the pop up and facing this issue so that i can troubleshoot it?

Also please share the URLs of old and new images that you have used in the pop up.

    Regards,

    Hi WPMU DEV,

Thanks for following up. I’m glad to help.

Link for staging site is here.

Old image URL (the one that loads) is here.

New image URL (which is contained within the src=”” of the img tag in the Main PopUp Content area in the plugin) is here.

    Hi @purplepatriot,

I have tested it on your site and found you are not using this WordPress PopUp plugin but any other lightbox plugin.

Make sure you are using our following WordPress PopUp plugin deactivating all other lightbox plugins so that we can help you here.

    Hi @wpmu DEV,

Actually, I was using both. Not sure why exactly. I’m going to mark this resolved, since I have it working on my live site. Didn’t mean to take up your time unnecessarily – thank you for your help!
