I have a client that after going through dozens of WordPress themes, finally selected one that they liked the best. However, after a few weeks of customizing the theme and content to their liking, they now want to completely “remodel” the header into something completely different than what was in the original theme.

So…I am looking for a plugin that will allow me to quickly and easily modify the home page and interior page headers with embedded widget areas (at least 2) and a responsive custom menu. It needs to work with the current WP version as well as Cherry 4.

Anyone know of any good solutions? I see a bunch of plugins in here, but I have no idea which ones will do what I need, and I don’t have time to waste trying them all.

Any advice on solutions you have used and liked that can do what I need?

    PLEASE let me know. Thanks.

  • It would be best to create a child theme and make the header customizations in the child theme. That is not really what plugins do. They are for adding functionality that is not included in the core WordPress or in the selected theme.

I never use other developers themes for my client’s sites. All of mine are created from my blank theme and a custom design. This way everything is the way the client wants it.
