    My wordpress.org Control Panel is blank, white static. I was advised to rename the wp-content folder,and I want to be precise so I don't screw it up...

    Here is what I've discovered,

    1. If I dbl click on the yellow wp-content folder "unable to access specific directory".

    2. If I right click on it, my options are,"make directory, rename, refresh, delete,download"

    3. I can select the folder and possibly rename it in the box at the top with the single forward slash in it, then Enter.

    Is that correct? Please guide me to the right way to go about accessing and renaming the wp-content folder

    Thank you very much, I appreciate your patience.

    Do you have any idea why the control panel is a white screen?
    Where the conflict may be, if not within the wp-content folder?

    Please don't make duplicate post, it does not help anything nor will it get you a solution faster.

    Use phpMyAdmin (go to your wp database)

    * In the table wp_options, under the option_name column (field) find the active_plugins row
    * Change the option_value field to: a:0:{}

    Refer to this (as previously stated) : http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F
