• Hi All,

Need some suggestions for the following situation. I will be re-designing a truck dealer website using wordpress. They would like to have the ability for customers to fill in a loan application form and send it to their finance department via email. Due to the sensitive information being sent over the internet, I believe they will need to install a SSL certificate on their server along with having a pgp key since the info will be sent by email. They currently host with godaddy.com.

Does anyone have any suggestions or feedback on this? Is there any particular form plugin that would be more suited to this?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice.

  • You might consider a Dropbox type of service, one that offers anonymous upload over a secure connection, data encryption and an easy yo use Client Interface. That way, your web server never handles the information and you don’t have to mess with email. These services cost money, but in general decent security does cost something.

I can’t recommend anyone, but I’m pretty sure you’ll find a vendor that does this. If they give you the form action and whatever parameters they need passed with the POST, then you ought to be able to construct the form with most form plugins.

Thanks for the suggestion. Have you ever done this? Are there any other ideas floating around out there? I’d like to compare my options.
