    Great. It's installed and online.

I thought (in my newb mind) that as I added a new post the former one would archive and tday's would replace it. Not so. It just adds the newer one at the top. This would lead to a really long post to plow through. So, what is the answer/fix?

Do I change the former one to a page and store it somehow so it's still viewable. The simpler the better, please.

Try setting the number of posts to 1 at Admin->Settings->Reading->'Blog pages show at most'.
