• I fail to see why this is so popular when it does very little unless you pay hundreds of dollars a year for the “pro” version. If you decide not to renew after a year, it stops working.

    Hi there,
We provide 3 key things for WordPress users.

First, we provide an easy, approachable way to get Google Analytics tracking installed and working, through well integrated wizards, comprehensive documentation, and same day support (and generally even for free users) that provides actual down to earth 1 on 1 support that solves any problems one of our users have (not send people elsewhere, even when its not our fault — and generally its not our fault).

Second, we provide custom Google Analytics tracking, even in the free version, that goes well beyond what Google Analytics’s default snippet provides. In the free version alone we add zero code/clicks required download, affiliate, email, telephone, etc link tracking, RSS feed tracking, several (Javascript, HTML markup, and soon Gutenberg) APIs for custom events tracking, 1 click cross domain tracking, and etc. Our users are easily able to get tracking that would require a developer a lot of time to implement properly, and tested (since we test all tracking code all the way back through GA’s support, which starts at IE6, for each and every release), and we make sure that it doesn’t conflict with popular plugins and themes through extensive automated and manual testing, and complete integrations.

Our paid version adds a ton of additional features like no-code required, 1 click complete enhanced eCommerce tracking for WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, MemberPress and LifterLMS (more on the way), complete impression and conversion tracking for basically every WordPress form plugin (including Gravity Forms, Ninja Forms, WPForms, Formidable Forms, Contact Form 7 etc), Google AMP, Google Optimize, Google Ads, and a ton of other things, all without requiring any code, and generally without any settings.

Finally, third, we provide our users with easy access to the statistics they need the most in the place they view it the most (the WordPress dashboard) in three key places (which is customizable): an overview of the last 30 days of their site on the admin bar, a quick look at some of the common KPIs on the dashboard, and a reporting dashboard in Insights -> Reports that shows the countries, device breakdown, new versus returning users, top referrals, top posts/pages, and so forth for free users, and even more for paid users. No need to go hunting through GA’s dashboard which for most of our users is way way to complex. And we’re going to continue working on adding new reports, refining the ones we already have, and add new ways of getting them (I’m working on the ability for our users to add scheduled email reports if they want them currently).

We pay attention to detail, and focus on the user experience and expectations of our core userbase, small to medium businesses, who are generally new to analytics who want to get the most out of it, but need help getting there. We make Google Analytics accessible and easy for the masses to use, by requiring no settings, no code, and no confusing hunting around in GA’s dashboard to find the numbers that matter.

That’s why MonsterInsights has become the largest GA integration not just for WordPress but of all CMS platforms and why we’re Google largest (and proudest) Google Analytics integration partner.
