This does work, but still leaves the problem of the original blank page “About Us” that appears in the sitemap. I can see only one way to avoid this, but I’m not sure how this affects seo and search engines!
If I were to remove the blank page, the sitemap wouldn’t be correct.
SOLUTION:
Disable that particular link in the sitemap (not sure how?) so as to preserve navigation hierarchy/structure.
Just fill in some content for the About page, possibly with links to the other pages.

That would have been the option if I wanted a page that was available and with content. As it is I do not.
