 * A simple Google search shows many threads over the years asking for UPC/EAN support
to be native in WooCommerce. All of them have been closed, often without a single
reply or comment. A recent thread was answered that only 3 people asked for this
in the ideas board. That may be so, but perhaps that is because it keeps getting
shut down, or newbies do not even know to post there, or where that board is.
 * As a designer/manufacturer with 25 years of experience, including using EDI via
VAN networks (before there was even a www), I can tell you that today’s E-Comm
world demands UPC/EAN support. Try selling on Amazon without it. No joy.
 * I do understand that there are third party patches and plugins to address this.
But I feel strongly that this is 1) Easy to implement, and 2) Very much needed
to scale into selling online in the current marketplace. The e-tail field is
too noisy to generate enough traffic to stay alive alone. Leveraging Amazon and
other popular e-tail sites is the only way to go, and the only way to use them
   is to have UPCs.
 * I for one can not move forward to sell to large chain stores or bigger e-tailers
without UPC codes. I can not be the only one with this problem. Thank you for
   the wonderful WooCommerce.
