# native emoji support

 * I guess this one slipped past me, but I thought I remember WP supporting emojis
   in Settings → Writing with the following option:
 * Convert emoticons like 🙂 and 😛 to graphics on display.
 * Is this not a thing anymore? Anyone know how I can get the option back (without
   a plugin)

 * It seems it just works. I added `:-)` to a post and it became an emoji.

 * hmm… ok, i see…
 * it works if i type in inside a page or post, but does not work if I hardcode 
   text inside a template…
