• Hello,

I’m pretty new to WordPress. I’ve set up my site (http://RodneyOnEarth.com). I’ve unchecked “User must be logged in to comment” under Options/General. I’ve also checked the box for “User must leave name and email to comment” under Options/Discussion.

When I go to leave a comment, I type in my name and email and comment text. I click to save. The new comment shows, but the name is always Anonymous.

When I go to admin page or “edit comment” to check the comment, the name field is empty. If i retype the name on the edit page, then it saves to DB and shows on the website with its comment info as it should (but it does not make it a hyperlink with the email, as the installed WP comment had.

    Any help is welcome! thanks!

    Rodney 🙂

  • Seemed to work for me, I left a comment and it came up fine in the list. If you are logged in to your admin panel and try leaving a comment it should pick up your admin information (name, email, URL); if any of those fields are blank it could lead to the problem you describe. Not sure what happens if you log out and try leaving a comment as a different username, though.

Oh, and the hyperlink is for the URL, not the email.
