    Hi,

I am a newbie in wordpress, I have one question for my Mystique theme.
How can I change […] in excerpt to “Read more” with link?

I read similar post but I am kinda confused, it mentioned about modifying the the_content() in index.php. Now, under Mystique Settings->Posts it does have ‘Post Preview’ which I set it to “Excerpts”. So I guess Mystique somehow controls the_content() parameters.

Can someone teach me how to do this in Mystique theme?

    Thanks a lot.

I finally found the answer to my problem..
I just realized if I set Mystique Settings->Posts->Post Previews to ‘Excerpts’ – <!–more–> tag won’t work. If I set it to ‘Full’ my <!–more–> tag in may post displays the ‘MORE>’ link.

What did you change to get the link to work? I’ve tried both the “Full” and “Excerpts” settings in the dropdown, but don’t get a link back to the source of the article.

    Thanks in advance.

There’s a plugin out there that handles this problem and a number of other issues with excerpts very nicely:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/excerpt-editor/

To show the “Read More” link after you’ve added the plugin and activated it, just go to Tools > Excerpt Editor > Auto-Generate and select the “Read More” button, then click on “Save Auto-Generate Options” – this will automatically add a “Read More” link after your excerpt or short posts.

It will also allow you to have formatted excerpts, and you can customize the “Read More” text to include the title of the article. SO much help. 🙂

    EBarney, many thanks!

    Cheers!
