# MySQL Error connecting to database….

 * When I try to run wp installation I get the ‘Error connecting to database…’, 
   I checked the username, password and host many times and everything seems to 
   be ok. I read somewhere that this could be due to a problem with MySQL 4.1.7,
   my web hoster provides version 4.1.14, could this be the reason why it doesn’t
   work??
    Is there any way to make it work?

 * No, the version shouldn’t matter for connection. Can you use the hostname, username
   and password and connect to the server through a shell prompt??
