I’ve had trouble installing locally. First I tried installing XAMMP and then downloading WordPress for a local install. The MySQL did have a password entered at this point. WordPress was downloaded and placed in the XAMMP directory. However WordPress wold never did load. A friend suggested I try using MicroSoft’s Web PLatform Installer, so I deleted the XAMMP directory completely. Web Platform Installer installs just fine but when I ask it to download and install WordPress it asks for a password for MySQL database. The password that I used when I installed XAMMP does not work. How can I change or preferably delete this password that Web Platform Installer is requesting. OS is Windows 7.
