 * Hello,
 * I have a less than ordinary problem and can’t solve it without manually editing
   posts ( and there are around 2,000 of them ).
 * Let me explain.
 * I have around 2,000 posts all containing <span> text </span> in the post content.
   That piece of text between the span tags is different on all posts.
 * What I want to know is if there is a way to automatically find and replace anything
   between <span> and </span> in mysql. Basically, find and replace everything between
   two html tags. It would be easy to find and replace, for example, <span> my title
   </span> but since the text between the span tags is different for all posts this
   solution does not work for me..
 * Any help will be greatly appreciated..

 * I think your best bet would be to export the table and use a text editor with
   regular expression capability to make the changes. Then import the modified sql
   back into the table.
