MySQ error during upgrade to 3.0 — did database upgrade or not?

  • I just upgraded a small WordPress site to 3.0 but when I checked the error log I saw the error message below, so did the database upgrade work or fail? Everything seems to be working.

    [Wed Jul 07 15:05:52 2010] [error] [client 68.229.62.88] WordPress database error MySQL server has gone away for query SELECT autoload FROM wp_options WHERE option_name = ‘_site_transient_update_core’ made by do_core_upgrade, wp_update_core, Core_Upgrader->upgrade, update_core, delete_site_transient, delete_site_option, delete_option, referer: http://www.xxxxx.com/wp-admin/update-core.php?action=do-core-upgrade

    It does look like it failed to complete successfully. Have you tried re-running the upgrade via wp-admin/upgrade.php?
