Support » Plugin: My Calendar » MyCalendar Multisite Category Filter Showing Duplicates

  • Hi, I am trying to get the MyCalendar to work on a Multisite. I am using the same basic short code for all [my_calendar id=”my-calendar”]. The calendar works great. However, when I click on a category to filter it shows duplicates of the same event. I’m assuming it does this because I have the same calendar on multiple sites. Is there a way I can fix this? Or at least turn off the anchor tag but leave the category legend? Additionally is it possible to get it to pull in the same styling as from the main site?

You’d need to use multiple copies of the same stylesheet to use the same styles; in multisite, every subsite has its own stylesheet configuration.

I’m not sure what the duplicate issue is, exactly, however – can you share a link that shows this?

    Hi Joe,

Thank you for your replay. Here is the link to one of the calendars https://sd84.charlie.chameleonhosting.com/calendar/ when you click on a category to filter it shows the same event 6 times on the same day.

Additionally for styles this is to one of the sub-sites that doesn’t show the category colours yet other do. http://grss.sd84.charlie.chameleonhosting.com/school-info-gold-river/calendar/

It’s pretty strange; but it’s a bug, as I’ve reproduced it in another environment. I don’t think it has anything to do with multisite; I think it’s a pure JS issue. Exploring!

For the site not showing the category colors, are the settings for colors the same on that site as the others?

    Hi Joe,

Thank you for looking into it. I love the plugin.

As for the category colours, its pulling in the categories and category colours from the main site. I have tested going in and adding the css manually for each site and it seems to work, however before that the h3 tags aren’t even showing the class name for the category for it to target.

Found the issue with the duplicate events; I’ll get that out soon.

For the site not showing the category colors, are the settings for colors the same on that site as the others? I’m not asking about the category colors themselves; but about whether colors are enabled on that site. I can see that the category key isn’t showing; so I know that there are some differences in set up.

    Perfect! Thank you.

As for the colors I just noticed on the sidebar that there was a “ignore colors” enabled in the categories. That has since fixed the issue.

    Thank you!

FYI, while I have a fix for the duplicate issue; I need a little time before I release it. I think it’s solid, but since it’s a modification to the main event SQL query, I need to give it more testing before release, to make sure I don’t break something else.
