My WordPress Was Hacked Only

Hi WordPress staff!

I had a domain that was almost completely running on WordPress, and, last night, it got hacked. I contacted my host right away and they told me it was you. Now, I have no idea if that’s true or not, but I wanted to make mention of it. All of my files that were not WordPress related where perfectly fine and exactly as they were yesterday, but my WordPress files were quite corrupt. I reinstalled it and it was fine, but I still got hacked. Luckily, I had a back-up from last week.

I also have two friends that are hosted on the same server. One used WordPress and one had FanUpdate. The friend using WordPress was also hacked and the friend that used FanUpdate was not. My WordPress friend’s site was exactly like mine with WordPress messed up and the rest of her site fine.

I really don’t know what really caused this problem, but I wanted to let you know that it did happen. 🙂 Thank you! (also, I was using 2.7, not 2.6, and the only two plug-ins I was using were WP Grins and WP Free Captcha).
