[resolved] My WordPress theme goes blank after loading in IE6/7 (3 posts)

I've come across a really weird bug in my theme that I've had no luck tracking down. So! I'm hoping someone out there has another idea to try, as these have not worked:

    • disabling all javascript, both inline and imported
    • disabling all css
    • deactivating all plugins
    • changing the doc type and xml/html header info incl. meta and charset

It's something about my theme because the other themes work fine (all pages of the site load fine in other themes too, it's not just the front page). The site loads in IE6 and 7 but when it finishes the browser screen goes blank. It won't go blank if there's a php error that stops the site from rendering though, so it's something that happens after everything is loaded...

Site works fine in all modern browsers, including IE8 =/
Here's a production copy of the site.

    Any ideas?

something that happens after everything is loaded...

so first place to look is in the jQuery document ready section

I had a look and it seems to relate to chromenav.js. That file has commented instructions:

    enableiframeshim: 1, //enable "iframe shim" in IE5.5 to IE7? (1=yes, 0=no)

changing it 0 stops the disappearing prob (the whole screen is taken over by an iframe) but there's still some visual formatting probs

    nice design in general though

Oh, you're right. Strange, since I commented out that script and other doc.ready snippets but it still went blank. Oh well, time to fix it. Thanks!
