• I’m a complete newbie, so I’m gonna need it real simple. I bought the “faded” theme from MintThemes, and uploaded it directly to WP from the zip file that they gave me.

Didn’t use FileZilla, etc. I run on a Mac platform (fyi). Just uploaded it to the themes in my WP dashboard.

The theme worked like a charm until I tried to input things like photos and text. That’s when things went awry. The things went in easy enough, but would disappear the next day. From what I’ve discerned from the forums it seems like it’s a “write” problem, or some incorrect port problem. I understand that if thats the case I need to go into a folder and change some numbers or permissions, or something like that.

I don’t know how to access the folder in question. MintThemes has been zero help, and when I tried to use Filezilla…and i couldn’t even log onto my site to find the folder…if in fact that is what I’m supposed to do…and if I find it, I really don’t know what to do with it.

I have put my site into maintenance mode, however really need to get it up and running asap. Can someone help me?

  • The first thing you need to do is get the FTP info for your site. You’ll need that.

Once you’ve logged in, you will find your theme in the wp-content > themes folder.
It should be in a theme folder called faded or something.

I would persist with getting MintThemes, if they are going to see themes, they need to provide better support.

    Good luck.
