I have a couple multisites installations and all of them seem to show only this cluster of houses on the top left corner. Is there any chance that you could attach a screenshot with the key icon from your website? You can use an online service for this like https://imgur.com/upload.

My multisite actually has the cluster of houses like yours, but I’ve seen the key other places.
Doing a quick image search (WordPress multisite dashboard) turns up plenty examples of both icons. Here’s one showing the key:

I checked this a bit and it seems that the icon changed two years ago from that key to the stacked houses. You can check the line that was changed right here. I guess that the screenshot that you found on wpmudev.org is just from an older version of WordPress, that’s all 🙂
