My Site Says Has a "Fatal Error"

  • Hello fellow WordPress users! I just joined the forums, so I apologize ahead of time for my limited knowledge, but I’ve run into a big issue with my site, Nintendo Charged.

    If you clicked on the link above, you’ve probably noticed that I’m running into what looks like a server issue, where I can’t access any of the site including the dashboard to fix it. On the screen it says:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp() in /home/mark/public_html/nintendocharged.com/wp-blog-header.php on line 14

    I’m afraid I won;t ever be able to access my site, after two years of daily posts, reviews and more, and I need your help!!! Thanks in advance 🙂

  • Hi Greg

    Just sat doing nothing and found this from another thread regarding wp-blog-header.php on line 14, the solution is as follows:

    adding these 2 lines…

    define(‘WP_SITEURL’, ‘http://www.yoursite.com/’);
    define(‘WP_HOME’, ‘http://www.yoursite.com/’);

    …into your wp-config.php file.

    Hey, your site looks great! What other problems?
    If you can’t login, try again:

    Hi just accessed your site seems ok, but takes a while to load

    Thanks! I just contacted my webmaster, and everything’s looking good now. In regards to my site’s loading time, what are things I can do to reduce long loading?

    Run it through yslow or google page speed you will get an indication there.
    Images are the biggy or (piggy) for speed optimize them,compress them,also simple things like js to foot, css to head,minify html and a real good cache
    Best of luck
    ps what was original problem dns break??

    It was a fatal error with the server, but it was actually easier than I thought. Thanks for the advice! If your a gamer, you’ll actually like what we put up on Nintendo Charged!

    At 50+ what’s the chances I’m a gamer, I’ll show it to my young man
