Hi, I was working on my site, took a break and came back to it and it’s completely ruined. The menu is messed up – completely missing now on my site, the homepage is missing, the font, the layout everything is messed up. Infact, I think if you click my link, there’s no content at all, unless you press the links from the bottom of the page. and even then this is not how I left my site.

I’m not sure what’s at fault here because when I left it everything was perfectly fine, I came back to edit it hours later and this is the result?

Is there anyway to rectify this?

    Thanks,
    Pelumi

Please provide a link to a page on your site where we can see this. Thanks.

You’re right, it’s messed up big time.

    1. Your menus do not have an href in the links. Check under appearance->menus.
    2. There seems to be no content on the home page.
    3. There are no visible errors.

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

If you can install plugins, install “Health Check”: https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/ On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

    Thanks, I’ll try that.

But do you also think it’s a good idea for me to restore my most previous backup? Since the site was working fine for a couple of days with the theme and plugins I’ve been using?

I don’t really want to risk losing this work, so I’ll work with whatever you think is best.

Restoring a backup is certainly an option. Your choice.
