Is it something to do with the sidebar itself, or maybe just the main template
    ?

There are soooo many threads here on issues with IE and the sidebar. It might help to search the site and do the old trial and error until you get the one that pertains to your situation.

I’m not sure, but your #rap div is 760px wide with 8px side padding, and within that is a 760px width #header. You also have some validation errors – it’s always better to fix those first. For some reason IE seems to see your sidebar as 100% width instead of 186px.

I realize this, but I dont even know what my sidebar looks like, as I am using browsers that work on Apple computers, and in my IE, my site looks perfect…so I was wondering why my IE would be fine, but others would not. I dont think these other posts really can be applied because this is a different situation.

Your sidebar is positioned underneath the main content and not at the side. I really think you should make your page validate as a first priority, because your stylesheet sets the sidebar width to 186px and yet IE Windows sees it as much wider, apparently forcing it beneath the content – which is the most common problem referred to in other threads. All this suggests a coding or css error somewhere, hence the need to validate everything first. Also fix the header width in relation to the rap div.

I can’t validate your stylesheet because you first need to validate your XHTML.

Actually, try removing your search form in the sidebar, and then get your friends with IE Windows to check the page again, as to me it looks as if the search form width could be the issue. When the page is loaded in IE, the sidebar displays correctly for an instant, and as it loads it flips under, as if something loading into the sidebar is too wide.
