Support » Fixing WordPress » My RSS Feed Has Stopped Working

  • Hello,

    My wordpress blog’s RSS feed has stopped working. Now when I go to the page, there are no results.

    There have always been some issues with the feed on this site as hasn’t ever displayed, however has always worked just fine so that’s what I’ve been using. However, a couple days ago it just stopped working. I hadn’t installed any new plugins or changed anything other than making regular daily posts to the site.

    I display the rss feed for my blog on my homepage, and it’s giving me the following error message: XML error: not well-formed (invalid token) at line 20 –

    I don’t know if that helps narrow down what’s wrong with the feed, but I figured I’d post it.

    Does anyone have any idea what might have happened to make it stop working and what I can do to get it working again?

    I appreciate any advice you can offer.

  • I gave up trying to get it for a while as I was tearing my hair out 🙁
    I have tried all the above variations and I can still not get it to work.
    I am using WP 2.2,installed the Feed Locations plugin and using Feedburner and neither have sorted the problem.
    When they are activated I can’t get to my feed page from the meta link, once the plugins are deactivated then I can get to feed page

    When I try to validate the feed through Feedburner it comes back with the error:
    This feed does not validate.

    *line 2, column 0: XML parsing error: <unknown>:2:0: xml declaration not at start of external entity [help]

    <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?><feed

    In addition, this feed has an issue that may cause problems for some users. We recommend fixing this issue.

    *Feeds should not be served with the “text/html” media type [help]

    and line 2 is: <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?><feed

    I will never get a feed going, it is so frustrating.
