  • Hello!

I am uploading large high resolution images to use with my posts but when I resize them to make them a little smaller (easier to look at) on the page, they get blurry, how can i prevent that from happening?

    for example an image 1200 x 1500
resized to 600 x 800 (approx) – it looks blurry

    THANKS!

    Hello,

They look blurry because the width is smaller than the 1200px. It’s actually half the size of the original area and thus, it’s stretching and looks blurry.

Keep the width to 1200 pixels and play around with the height of the images.

    Thanks

Thanks for responding. I just switched them all to original image to fix blurry smaller image size. I’m fine with having them big like that though I liked them a little smaller to make it easier to look at everything together with the very small text size of this theme.

Can you take a quick look at my newest entry? Why would that one show up smaller in the layout? All taken on same iPhone. Thanks again!

Sure – I can take a look. Can you show me the website again, please?

I’ve added another post since then, now both of the two most recent posts show up as cropped images as opposed to to full length images, I’m doing all vertical shots, no horizontals.

    Thanks!

In order to change the default image size (which is the horizontal orientation) – you’ll need to either create a child theme and make some code changes or use this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes/ to redefine the default theme thumbnail size.
