 * I have a problem, I am making a theme, and using CSS to style the various different
components, such as the header DIV, for which i want to use a background image.
I am testing the theme locally, and am running XAMPP. all files for the theme
are stored at c://xampp/htdocs/wordpress/wp-content/themes/tutorial. All background
images are inserted using the CSS file.
 * However, I have tried to use background images in the CSS styling a few times,
and none of the images are appearing. The images appear if i use a full URL from
a hosted source on the net and insert that as an image (img src…) directly into
the php file where I would want the image to be, but obviously that’s not going
to work well. However, when calling the images in the CSS file, it doesn’t matter
whether I use a full URL or the images/header.jpg path that dreamweaver uses,
   neither appear….its driving me MAD.
 * Ive tried uploading the theme to my server to test it online to see if it is
just an issue with testing the theme locally through XAMPP but the images still
   don’t appear…
 * The images for the theme are stored inside the ‘images’ folder in the themes
   folder.
 * 🙁
 * also, one more small thing, is there a way, to get the postmetadata in each post
to appear on a single line instead of 2 lines like this:
 * Filed under: Album Release by admin
 * thank you in advance to anyone that can help.
 * Also, I realize I posted this problem earlier, but no-one replied, so I’m hoping
me posting it again, with a more detailed explanation of the problem will help.

 * Exactly what CSS are you using for the background image?

 * The CSS requires* a full URL, regardless of whether you’re live or on your own
   machine. (e.g. [http://localhost/wordpress/wp-content/themes/YOURTHEME/images/](http://localhost/wordpress/wp-content/themes/YOURTHEME/images/))
 * *Someone smarter than me correct me if I’m wrong, but I’ve never gotten my CSS
to be able to use relative links to images — even within it’s own stupid folder.
