We recently moved our website (www.secondhandhounds.org) to a new host on BlueHost when we deployed a brand new WordPress setup. We installed WordFence and it is in learning mode, but I keep getting this notice that this IP is being blocked, which is the IP of our host server. I am not a website expert as this is a non-profit to free labor and all, but would like to know if I should take action, here is the email:

This email was sent from your website “Secondhand Hounds” by the Wordfence plugin at Thursday 16th of March 2017 at 01:06:45 PM
The Wordfence administrative URL for this site is: https://secondhandhounds.org/wp-admin/admin.php?page=Wordfence
A user with IP address 162.144.75.70 has been locked out from the signing in or using the password recovery form for the following reason: Exceeded the maximum number of login failures which is: 5. The last username they tried to sign in with was: ‘pasantia1’
    User IP: 162.144.75.70
    User hostname: server.secondhandhounds.org
    User location: Provo, United States

    Hello,

Are you using any of the following:

load balancer, reverse proxy, cache, Cloudflare or another CDN?

If so you may need to change the way Wordfence gets its IP’s on the Options page in the Wordfence menu:

    “How does Wordfence get IPs”

Watch the live traffic feed and see if every IP looks the same or is unique. If they look the same then you may need to change the setting for the option above.

Our documentation for how Wordfence gets IP’s is below:

    https://docs.wordfence.com/en/Wordfence_options#How_does_Wordfence_get_IPs

If you need any further assistance then please don’t hesitate to ask.

As you haven’t replied to the instructions that I provided I will assume that the instructions did solve your issue and I will now mark this topic as resolved.

If however, for whatever reason, you are still experiencing this issue and it is not resolved please respond to the post, which moves it back up the queue, and mark this topic as “not resolved”.

    Thank you.
