    My newsletter that I send out with my latest posts has stopped working since adding this plugin.

    I am using both Mailchimp and Aweber. With both of these providers I am using my RSS feed to populate the newsletter automatically.

    I don’t get any errors but the locations within the newsletter that are supposed to display the recent posts are just empty.

    Thanks

    @coreyalderin,

    Thanks for the info. My first thought was to check and see if the RSS feed passed validation, which it does: http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.christianquotes.info%2Ffeed%2F

    To further test, I’m setting up a test RSS campaign in my own MailChimp account for your site to see if I can duplicate the issue. If so, I’m going to setup a test site with just the mPress Custom Feed Excerpts plugin installed and test that via MailChimp as well. I’ll let you know how that goes as soon as I have done the testing.

    I set up a custom feed for the purpose of my newsletter, which you can fine here: http://www.christianquotes.info/feed/customfeed

    It seems to be the only feed on my site that works with your more tag.

    Although I tested the newsletter with this feed as well with the same result (not showing): http://www.christianquotes.info/feed/

    Thanks again

    @coreyalderin,

    Your custom feed doesn’t validate: http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.christianquotes.info%2Ffeed%2Fcustomfeed

    When I set up your (main) feed in an RSS campaign on my MailChimp account, I was able to see the content from the feed in the email.

    I’m assuming that you probably had the RSS campaigns set up already and just noticed that they were broken? Or did you just set them up?

    The next step in my mind would be to validate that the email template is set up properly. If the content in the RSS feed is correct and it isn’t showing properly in emails, then that would be an issue for MailChimp / AWeber.

    From your previous comment, it sounds like you are saying that you aren’t getting what you expect in your RSS feed. If that is the case, let me know exactly what isn’t working as expected. Thanks!

    Ya, your plugin works with my custom feed (http://www.christianquotes.info/feed/customfeed) which I use for my newsletter. SO that is good. I just thought it was odd that it was not working for my WP standard feed (http://www.christianquotes.info/feed/). If you look at my custom feed you can see that it cuts the post text off, which is exactly what I want it to do. But on the WP feed, it shows the standard excerpt length, which is what I do not want. None of this is a big deal to me but just wanted to point it out to you because I found it odd.

    This newsletter is something that I have had for a while so not new. But I just tested it again and it appears to somewhat be working now. It’s at least displaying the post, just not with the correct excerpt. But maybe there are some delays that are happening since we are dealing with an RSS feed. So I will wait a while and see if things fix themselves all the way.

    Thanks for all the help.

    Quick update

    It looks like my issue is resolved. It must just be that I am working with an RSS feed and updates take a while to star working. I think everything is working as needed now.

    Thanks
