  • Hello WP forum folks.
I’m fairly new to using WP, at least in terms of using its advanced features. I run a business selling royal jelly and recently started a campaign to raise awareness for a project affecting world food supply – the phenomenon of ‘Colony Collapse Disorder’ or “CCD”.
I’ve decided to put the full power of WP to use and setup a community portal where people can create their own mini blog and communicate with the outside world on matters relating to health, natural foods, royal jelly products and more. The site is at The Natural Shopper.

I’d welcome ideas on how to get this project off the ground, what other WP functions, features and widgets could be used to enhance its appeal along with any ideas and comments on styling issues.
Since using WP I’ve been pretty amazed at its range of features and add-ons, though so far I haven’t come across a good shopping cart plugin. My main site is at Royal Jelly Store – it’s a Joomla install and I’d really like to convert it to WPMU but I haven’t found a way of replacing the Virtuemart cart on there with something in WP. If you have any suggestions I’d love to hear them, bearing in mind the need to have a broad range of cart features and the ability to import existing customer accounts.

Many thanks for any help/ideas you’d be willing to share.
