This morning I visited my site and discovered that my pages were in a different order on my menu bar and an extra Home page appeared. However, when I went into my dashboard to check my menu there and move things back to their proper place, nothing had changed. So what appears on the menu bar does not match the Menus page in my Dashboard. How can I get what appears on my site back to normal?

    my URL is http://www.jeanettehanscome.com.

    Thank you!

  • Hey. Have you recently downloaded any plugins that may interfere with your nav menu? Try deactivating all of your plugins, if this fixes your problem, them reactivate them one by one until you’ve narrowed it down to the problematic plugin/s.

Also, try double checking that your custom menu has been selected for your desired location under the “Manage Locations” tab in the Menu interface.

As you’re using a commercial theme, that the volunteers on these forums are unable to gain access to without paying, I’m unfortunately unable to provide any more advice than that. For any more help please go to your theme’s official support channel: http://www.elegantthemes.com/.

Thank you so much! I checked the custom menu and switched the managed location to Main Menu. Everything fell back into its proper place. What a relief.

I guess I should be thankful that I am learning so much in the process of working out all the bugs in my new site.

Definitely, you can’t learn without bugs. 🙂 Glad everything’s fell back into place.
