I think it’s a small anoyance that I have to type “TruSktr” as my username instead of “trusktr” to log in. You guys should allow the username to be case-insensitive. The password is always case-sensitive, of course.

Usernames aren’t case sensitive here. I can log in with “otto42” or “Otto42” or “OtTo42” and it works just fine for me.

That said, usernames do have case, but on the support forums at least, case is ignored for login.

Case is NOT ignored elsewhere. On trac, or any of the SVNs, case does matter.

OK, well i just tried it, and it does matter. I can’t log in to the forums with “trusktr”… But then if I try “TruSktr” with the exact same password, it works.

It’s the same every time. It wasn’t doing this to me before, this is a relatively new (bug?).

I’m my experience, it’s generally a browser bug. Are you using Firefox, perchance?

Actually, I take it back. There is some case sensitivity around here, specifically on the bb-login screen. You’ll get a “this username does not exist” message if you use the wrong case there.

    I’m using Chrome Ipstenu.

Otto, is the software used for these forums not wordpress?

    It’s bbPress.

You guys by any chance have any good advice on ajaxifying wordpress?
